About village :
Izbiszcze anciently spelled as, is now known as Izbisca on a google map. It is about 7 miles east of Duahinava on the road labeled as H8753. Dauhinava was formerly known by many names as well, Dolginovo, Dolhinow, etc.. One must really zoom in on a google map to find it. This tiny village was found on a 1933 Geographical Division Map of Poland. It was found on Microfiche 6358362 at the International Level of the Family History Library (FHL) in Salt Lake City, Utah. The scale of the map was 1:100,000. There is another village named with the same name, located southwest of Bialystok, Poland (on a google map as well). It should not be confused with this little village which is in Belarus. Not much is known by this author about the town, except Alphous Mnichowicz immigrated from this little village in 1906 to the United States (Wisconsin). He was born in the Russian Empire in 1867, but spoke Polish and so this author is assuming this little community were composed of mostly Polish Catholics, since peasants often were of the same persuasion. In the 1934 Polish Gazetteer, located at the FHL in Salt Lake City in Volume 1, Page 566 the little village is associated with the larger town of Dokszyce (Dokshitsy)in the County of Dzisna, Province of Wilna. The Roman Catholic Records are supposed to be located in the Parish of Dokszyce. Its bus route was located about 25 km to the south of Dokszyce.
