History :

In September 1944 my father, a British SAS soldier parachuted into Alsace Lorraine near Audviller. On the 26th of September he arrived with his four man patrol at Koecking where he hid in a cottage near a farm. Unfortunately a German patrol arrive by lorry transport and surrounded the cottage. The Germans came into the cottage and started to question two fifteen year old girls who were polish nationals. My father was hiding in the rear of the house. he ran into the front room and shot four German soldiers. My father and his men then ran into the woods behind the cottage and some other Germans gave chase. he turned and shot these Germans also except for one man who ran back to the cottage. Another lorry arrived with more German soldiers. These men executed the two Polish soldiers. My father was 23 years old and he was the Regimental Sergeant Quartermaster john Alcock of the 2 Special Air Service regiment. On the 19 of September he had been hidden at Ferme Ferriendal by the Koenig family. I am very gratefull to them for helping my father. If anyone has any information about the killing of the two Polish girls I would like to know of it. I am writing a book about this operation which is called Operation Pistol.
