History :

When we were in the Akwamu Kingdom, we were know as Twafo, we led the Akwamuhene’s army in war. At Nyanawase, we had issues with our uncle and so we settled on a hill known as Agyankote. During the dry seasons it was difficult to get water here. One of our chiefs, Amoa Djan, discovered a river here at our current settlement. The river was known as Asuboade. The group was led by Oteng Kuronkye I from Nyanawase to the Agyankote hill. He informed the chief at the time, Adu Mireku I, who also appointed people to go and verify if there existed a river.On their way back from the riverside, they came to a deep valley, known in local parlance as Oku. So, from the direction given to the people “ come to the deep valley “ “ Bra Oku no so”, that is how we got the name of our settlement “ Brekuso”
