History :
Before independence it was a white settler highlands. After independence in 1963, people from central kenya were settled there. The larger NYANDARUA district(now COUNTY) to which kinangop constituency belongs, was a subset from rift valley to make it part of central kenya. North kinangop village is on upper part of kinangop plateau while south kinangop is on southern part.
