About village :

This village of maybe 30 homes is largely in ruins in the aftermath of the April 15,1979 earthquake (7.0 R). It is an old ~400 year old village on the top of a small hill in Krtole near Radovici. It is composed of stacked stones with most all the homes connected into a small fortress. Outside the walls are grain thrashing areas (called guvnos), animal pens, and previously attended gardens and olive groves, the latter are all but gone now. Most of the inhabitants were relocated down to hill to homes built on the bay of Kotor. A few have rebuilt their homes and several refugees have occupied unused properties. Recently, new weekend homes have been built near the guvnos.

Tourist Places :

The top of a hill overlooking the village are 2 churches that share the hill; St. Jovan (Orthodox) and St.Ivan (Catholic). The town had a mix of these two religions, but the wars of the 1990's strained the bonds. On the way to the village strong statements on flat rocks are noteworthy.

Other detail:

My father was born here. The overgrowth on the homes is a reminder of how things fade away no matter how brilliant they had once existed.
