History has it that Alimosho town as it is constituted today is a composition of the descendants of four Princes who left Ile-Ife on hunting expedition and settled at Alimosho one after the other.

Princes Ogunbowale, Florin, Kosovo and Afield were a band of hunting Princes that usually went after games in the thick forest for months before returning to Ile-Ife.

There was this hunting festival, it is still practised till date in Ile-Ife when all hunters would go into the thigh forest to hunt. This hunting spree could last as pond as four months.

During the celebration of one of these festivals, the four Princes Ogunbowale, Folarin, Kokumo and Afuwape took part and headed for the thick forest. In the course of the hunting, the four brothers resolved to separate so as to expand their opportunities of killing more animals and promised to meet at a designated place.

After about two months of adventure, Ogunbowale, Kosovo and Afield returned within few days intervals to the designated place. They waited for a few more days with the hope that Prince Florin being the eldest would surface but all their expectations came to nought hence they all headed for Ile-Ife.

At the end of the forth month of the hunting expedition, Princes Ogunbowale, Kokumo and Afuwape returned into the forest to search for their brother, Prince Folarin in and around the designated place where they were initially supposed to meet. They did not find Prince Folarin thus they returned to Ile-Ife and consulted the Ifa oracle for the where about of their brother. The oracle confirmed that Prince Folarin was alive hale and hearty in another land where there were so many rocks.

The three princes decided to go after their brother. They left Ile-Ife with a coronet and \'ipawo\' symbolising Princes, they took along an Ifa Priest and other deities such as Ogun, Sango, Obatala, Oro etc until they got to Abeokuta as predicted by the Ifa Oracle.

At Abeokuta where Prince Folarin stayed, his brothers did not meet him there as they were told that he had left having converted to Islam and Christians dominated Abeokuta thus he left Abeokuta without leaving a trace with his family. It was discovered that Prince Folarin had actually got married in Abeokuta and changed his name to Alimi. The three brothers found their stay in Abeokuta uneventful since they were more traditionally inclined than their christianity dominated environment.

Having spent some time in Abeokuta, they consulted the oracle in the dead of the night and were told to leave Abeokuta before dawn. They promptly left with all their belongings, the Ifa priest and their deities. They journeyed until they got to a river called alasua where they met a woman fetching water. They narated their mission to the woman who told them that Alimi Eso(Alimi the great warrior) founded the community abetting the Alasua river. They all moved into the community with the woman who happened to be one of the wives of Prince Folarin (a.k.a Alimi Eso). The name Alimoso is a corrupt version of Alimi Eso and the town is so named till date.

Princes Ogunbowale, Kokumo and Afuwape met with their brother Prince Folarin (a.k.a Alimi Eso), Prince Folarin since his settlement and founding of Alimoso occupied Elelubo, his brothers Kokumo was told to settle at isale Odo, Afuwape stayed at Igboro while Ogunbowale occupied Ogunbowale compound in Abule Alabe. They all resolved to stay separately in order to have adequate space for farming and to accommodated their growing families. The Ifa priest till date comes from Sangowunmi\'s house in Afuwape\'s compound in Igboro area.
