History :

The history of Dagauda takes up fron the origin of its people just before it was founded, the founding father and its population growth. The 18th centuary was still a period of slave raiding and barbaric inter tribal clashes. These two coupled with the growing infertility of the soil urged the karaikarai settled at Zai near Gadaka to move north-west and founded Lanzai village. Due to further growing soil infertility and led by a renown, brave hunter and soldier under the name Baka Caba otherwise Caba the Archer this karaikarai dynasty abandonned Lanzai and founded the old Dagauda and built a defence wall around it. As time went on, the population of Dagauda so grew that it could no longer be contained within the interior of the original defence wall. This neccessitated the establishment of three petty settlements maintained as attachments to the original old Dagauda. One of them is called Dagauda-East and the rest are old Kamina and old Banjawari. All these three walled, attached villages sticked to Dagauda against all eventualities.

Bus / Train / Transport :

Dagauda being so close to Potiskun town has resulted in diverting the attention of a host of Potiskum's Taxi town service to do the Potiskum-Dagauda short run rather than to operate only townwise. To join in the competition, commercial automobiles belonging to Dagauda people are employed too in the run. As a result, not much time is wasted to trave to and fro between the two localities. Even passengers wanting to travel to Bauchi have the Dambam Local Government Mass Transit stationed in Dagauda every morming as one of the drivers lives there.

Shopping :

Dagauda is now in the middle of a rather more commercial expansion compared to the previous days when only a couple of people engaged themselves in active business activities. Several shopping centres have now emerged selling almost all varieties of consumer goods formerly only to be found in Potiskum , the closest commercial town. Shops rendering provision services have more than doubled and alot more have emerged selling spare parts for automobiles and motorcycles. Motorcycle mechanics avail in greater proportion than ever before and their workshops are widely distributed across the perimeter of the village. Just of recent, a shop was opened selling fashion wears whereas only some five traders were known to supply Atampa wax, women wears before. With the emergence of the mobile phones, many of the youth have made it their business to sell cellphone accessories and recharge batteries. Many youngmen have become barbers shaving by the use of electric clippers. Several tailors have also emerged with a single dyeing workshop to take care of trim needing fabrics. One will expect fresh vegetables and fruits to be readily available and at all times in Dagauda market, well ofcourse they are. Alot of vegetables and fruits stalls are run by many traders in Dagauda. Come to talk about fish, one would think that the village is located at some riverine site whereas it is not. This is as a result of the vast number of trades in the fish business. The major business day is Saturday, the market day in which sellers and buyers come from far and near places to do the once per week business.
