About village :

In the first instance Ipetumodu ia a town and not a village. The population is above 10.000 inhabitants and during festivals it can reach as much as 75000. Egungun festival is the most popular, hopefully they are still celeberating it. Ipetumodu is the political Capital of Origbo Community. They are seven villages under the leadership of Ipetumodu kingship, they are Ipetumodu, Ashipa, Akinlalu, Moro, Yakoyo, Awosu and Isope. Isope was destroyed by fire during the slave trade.People of Ipetumodu originated from Ile Ife and Modakeke, it use be a hunting place for the nobles of Ife.As at now, Ipetumodu is proud to have more primary schools per habitant in the world, oneof the best and finest clay soil in the world, etc, etc.I will continue writing about this town shortly, i have to consult my elders.
