History :

In 1935 Dr. J. G. Green, Medical Officer at Kafanchan Hospital, received a lengthy printed Address thanking him for his services to the hospital. The first paragraph reads: "Great is our pleasure to have to honour you with a farewell function of this type. We only wished our number had been several times as great to have enabled us to arrange and carry out a "send-off" many times as grand and elaborate. We are convinced there has not been at this station a Medical Officer who deserved greater respect and honour from his African Subordinate Staff and patients than yourself." . . . . . The complete address was signed off by M. Karibo, M. C. Ifedirah, R. N. Omeata, T. O. Isirimah. G. A. Igweike, Mallam M. Bida, John Okoro, Peter cameroon, Isaac Hile, Samuel Ofa, Osuman Fortlami, Mechao, Sam, Oni, Mungo Fortlami.
