About village :

Ndon Eyo is a small town in Onna Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. It is one of the five towns that makes up Nung Ndem Clan. Lying in the middle of the clan, it has become the centre of attraction and the decider of fate even in political matters. Within its sphere, it is the most developed commercial point. It lies on the federal Trunk A road linking Eket with Ikot Abasi to Port Harcourt. There is a second federal Trunk B road starting from Ndon Eyo through Awa to Uyo the capital of Akwa Ibom State. Ndon Eyo is approximately 5 minutes from the Qua Iboe River which is a tributary of the Atlantic Ocean.

Ndon Eyo has a Primary School which dates back to the colonial days. There is also a Senior Secondary School which occupies the campus of the former Teachers' Training College. Graduates of the Science School are all over the country and are climbing higher in their chosen fields of endeavours than one initially expected.

In the past, there used to be loads of cultural festivals including the Ekpo Masquerade, Ekpe, Obon, Abang, etc. At present, these festivals have been overtaken by the Christian beliefs of the people. What remains is the end-of-year masquerades which some native people still hold onto as a reminder of the culture and tradition of the indigenous people. In this town, there is a beautiful blend of the traditional and the political systems of government especially with the increased role of traditional rulers in the lower tier of governance.

There are so many churches and church groups in this little town. Since Ndon Eyo has so much of its land mass contributing to the Headquarters of the current Onna Local Government area, most entrepreneurs seem to put up their businesses here as a stepping stone to this part of the state if they cannot get a space in Eket.

Ndon Eyo is rich in Agricultural products. There is Crude Oil in this land; it is one of the oil producing towns in Akwa Ibom State (Niger-Delta). Oil Palm abounds naturally. With its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean and Qua Iboe River, sea foods are abundant within the town.

The popular Ukosco Inn is a very important hotel providing hospitality to travelers on business to the Mobil Oil platform in Eket. there are other hotels, Bed and Breakfast, Guest Houses, and similar facilities within the town.

Ndon Eyo has produced very prominent people. There are so many prominent families in this town namely Edemeka, Ben Udo, Sunday Udoetuk, Willies UmoInam, etc. The late Chief Buddie Udo Edemeka is well known throughout the area. Chief Udo Umana, a Dentist, is one of the first set of dentists trained by the British colonial masters. This town has produced prominent indigenes some of whom are Electrical Engineers, Chartered Accountants, Aviation Experts, Medical Doctors, Mathemetical Scientists, Lecturers, and lots more.
