History of Ozahi Founding/ founder (s)The history of the founding of Ozahi correlates with the history of the founding of the Egburra/Igu Kingdom.The founders of Ozahi were descendants of the Egburra migrants from Kwararafa to Idah and then to Ugbarka. It was at this point that the people who later founded Ozahi separated from the main migration stream to settle at Ekuma, as a close knit nuclear family unit of hunters.The search for a safer (from slave raiders) place led them to settle at the present location of Ozahi, which derived its name from the self-purchase of animals by the settlers (Wai-Za-BaBa-Hi). The migration from Ekuma to Ozahi was done simultaneously by five brothers of the same family, these brothers are; 1 Ohemi-idalogo 2 Aikuta3 Aikuta 4 Ossumannu 5 Omada-ehu. The five brothers settled and established their various households (compounds) at different points main Ozahi, thus ; 1 Ohemi-idalogo------Ankyegbo 2 Aikuta ---------- Akpanchi 3 Aikuta------- IREIrehi-ozahi 4 Ossumannu ---Atakwochi5 Omadehu--- Akpo .These five compounds still exist today and are made-up of descendants of their original founders.
