About village :

Konottawa is a very calm and quite village situated with a distance of 2 kilometers from the main town of Kuliyapitiya in the district of Kurunegala, NWP. The turn is from 1 kilometer south of Kuliyapitiya town at Kadurugashena junction along Kuliyapitiya - Madampe road which is now a 4 lane high way. The tarred road running through the village connects from other side to the main high way from Kuliyapitiya to Hettipola. In fact this route is now being used by motorists to reach Kuliyapitiya - Madampe high way by passing the busy town area. There is a CTB bus service available to reach the village from the town. Coconut is the main crop in the area with a large string of paddy fields on a side of the village adding to the scenic beauty.Within one kilometer on either side from the village, located are famous Kabalewa Devalaya at the premise of famous Kumbalwala Raja Maha Viharaya and Embowa Viharaya.
