Samalil: A small lovely village located in the heart of Syria. It issome 20 km west north to Homs and is reachable via Homs-Mysiaf road. Some 1100 of the Sunni Turkmen inhabit the ancient village. Of the prominent family names are the following: Kakhia Masri, Kurdi, Othman, Sulaiman, Shaaban, and Karah Madi. Wheat,barely and corn are the main crops.
